Origin - Ireland
Bailey’s Irish Cream is an Irish whiskey and cream-based liquor made by Gilbeys of Ireland, a brewing and wine and spirits distribution company. Bailey’s offers a whole new flavor to the liquor experience. Every sip is very creamy and tastes like a coffee creamer with an alcoholic taste and deep caramel notes. Bailey’s Irish cream has been a popular liquor for over 40 years and is usually enjoyed over ice, or as a main ingredient in a variety of cocktails.
[ Fun Fact ]
Most cream liquors are around 15% to 20% ABV, which means manufacturers can avoid adding preservatives as the alcohol will work its magic to preserve the cream. In some cases, it’ll preserve up to 24 months from the day it is bottled. You can enjoy the drink without compromising the quality, just make sure it is refrigerated!
[ History ]
The story of Bailey’s Irish Cream began in 1974 with David Dand, the founder of Bailey’s. Dand spent 3 years with his team of technical experts to create the perfect balance of alcohol and cream. Finally, in November of 1974, Bailey’s Irish cream was created as the first Irish cream in the world, by way of an accident. The final attempt of the addition of chocolate, vanilla, and burnt sugar lead the breakthrough for the team to successfully mix the two unlikely liquids together and create a rich and creamy liquor.
[ How to Drink ]You can enjoy Bailey’s Irish Cream straight, on ice, or as a cocktail. Whichever way you choose to drink Bailey’s, be prepared for a rich and buttery surprise.
